Blurry Nightlife Oil Paintings by Alexandra Pacula
Brookyln-based painter Alexandra Pacula is fascinated by nightlife, and in her words, “a world of visual intoxication.” She paints very large canvases that look like blurry long-exposure photographs of hectic urban scenes, the photos you might capture accidentally on your digital camera while using the wrong setting (or probably that’s just me). See much more of her work here.

Poster Cred Sticker Installations
Poster Cred is an ongoing project by Seattle-based designer Joseph King that attempts to poke fun of the implicit credibility suggested by designers who photograph themselves holding posters for marketing purposes. You can participate in the project by requesting stickers via the Poster Cred page, and photos of the stickers in action have come back from all over the world. Definitely see the entire gallery, some of these are pretty fun. (via lustik)

Bonsai Tree Houses by Takanori Aiba
For nearly a decade since the late 1970s artist Takanori Aiba worked as a maze illustrator for Japanese fashion magazine POPYE. The following decade he worked as an architect and finally in 2003 decided to merge the two crafts—the design of physical space and the drawing of labyrinths—into these incredibly detailed tiny worlds. Using craft paper, plastic, plaster, acrylic resin, paint and other materials Aiba constructs sprawling miniature communities that wrap around bonsai trees, lighthouses, and amongst the cliffs of nearly vertical islands. I would love to visit every single one of these places, if only I was 6 feet shorter. See more of Aiba’s work here.
