The Latest: October Ministry Update

October 28, 2011

I am very pleased to have a dear friend sharing with all of you this month [see below]. Thank you for your prayers and your continued support, we could not do this without you!

Milam, Ashley, Gunnar and Remy

Hey Reversal Community and Friends!

My name is Robert Noland and Milam asked me to write this month’s update. I’m on the Board of Directors for The Reversal 501(c)(3) non-profit. Also for 10 years I was a touring and recording artist. I know the joy of making music that moves people, along with the horrors of a bad record deal. The highs and lows, victories and struggles, of the music business. Milam and I have connected—maybe collided is a better word—because of this and my pastoral experience of the past decade, recent move to Nashville, and like heart to see artists passionately follow Christ. What a privilege it is to pour into Milam’s life as he pours his life into you. Which brings me to the update . . .

God is growing The Reversal. Milam is working overtime to keep up with all that is happening. Balancing his part-time job as head of small groups at The Village Chapel with his heart to meet with artists and oversee the many growing groups is a constant challenge.

As we near the end of 2011, I’m asking for your help, but first a word from The Word . . .

The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.” —1 Timothy 5:17-18

Okay, technically, The Reversal is not a church, but it is a Christian ministry where a leader is carrying out the work of the Gospel and, as of right now, to be honest, Milam is “muzzled.” Let’s un-muzzle him by giving sacrificially to The Reversal, so that money is not an issue for the Byers family. Milam needs to be able to freely do the work God has called him to in this ministry without concern.

Would you consider giving a year-end gift to The Reversal OR commit to a monthly gift in 2012 OR both. . . . Yeah, I like both. Let’s go with both.

Check out the math: Our year-end giving goal is $12,000 to put the ministry in solid shape as we end 2011 and begin 2012. This letter is reaching 370 people. If we all give just $32.50 each, we’ll reach the goal. Some of us will do more to make up for those who won’t. But don’t be a won’t, be a will!

The growth goal for 2012 for increasing Milam’s Reversal time and acquiring some much-needed office space is an annual budget of $65,000. If each of us committed to just $14.50 per month, we would reach the goal. If you know someone who has a small office space to donate, that’s even better.

Please join me in supporting this unique and amazing ministry in these 3 ways:

1—Pray. For Milam and his family, the group leaders, artists—the ones who come and the ones who will.

2—Give. (See math above.) All donations are tax-deductible. Click here for 3 ways to give.

3—Join. If you’re receiving this because you’re an artist, plant your life and heart into The Reversal. This is such a unique niche designed just for you and your lifestyle. We are here for you, to serve you. That’s the only reason we exist.

If any of you have any questions regarding the ministry or operation/finances of The Reversal, please contact us.
