We are only half-way through January and it’s already been a busy start to the new year. We welcomed Remy Moses on New Year’s Day; he is 8 lbs. of joy and we have been so blessed by the gift of another child. Gunnar is SLOWLY adjusting to life as a big brother, and has surprisingly been the source of our sleepless nights!
January has also been the start of many exciting things for The Reversal. Our weekly Bible study has turned into 3 weekly groups with a fourth on the horizon. We have been so encouraged by the individuals and families who have offered to host these weekly groups in their homes. Milam teaches each study, and the hosts have taken on the responsibility of growing and maintaining fellowship throughout the week with those attending. The goal with making the groups smaller is to create a more intimate/safe environment where accountability comes naturally. We have started out the year studying God’s call to all of us to follow Jesus with purpose, surrendering our lives wholeheartedly to Him. That has found us digging into the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7) and referencing classic works like The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. We trust in the faithfulness of God to grow these truths and produce fruit, and we ask you to continue praying for hearts and lives to be changed.
Milam was recently asked to be part of an event at our home church to minister to those “surviving the road.” Milam represented The Reversal as part of a panel discussion where those touring or loved ones of those touring were able to ask questions dealing with specific issues that are representative of this “lifestyle.” It was encouraging to see a room full of people actively seeking support and encouragement, and a blessing to be able to serve in this capacity.
As a family, we are looking forward to attending a Leadership Conferencetogether in February called Radicalis. Milam was a part of Radicalis last year and out of that time was born the vision for The Reversal. We are excited to do this as a family and are anticipating a dedicated time to growing in Christ and growing in the wisdom of serving our community. Please pray for our time and travel, especially as we juggle having both of the boys with us!
Last, but not least, we are excited to announce the launch of our website;www.thereversal.org! We are very proud of the finished product; this is going to be an amazing tool in keeping everyone connected and engaged on the road.
We want to say a special thank you to Brody and Jordan at Skor Inc and Davy Baysinger at Royal Empire Design. Thank you for your time, creativity, and making this come together. You all did an amazing job!
With your help and selfless giving we were able to exceed our December fund-raising goal ($3,000) by $230! Because of your support we are able to serve this community and carry out the vision God has called us to. With a new year comes new opportunities and growth – pray about joining our Monthly Financial Support Team. We are seeking out 25 families or individuals to join this team as we serve artist and touring personnel on a full-time basis. If you have questions or feel that God has called you to be a part of the team, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit us here.
